From new vocational training centers to support for start-ups and research collaborations: Thousands of projects are being supported in Saxony with funding from EU structural funds. A total of around 3.2 billion euros is available for projects in Saxony in the current 2021-2027 funding period, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
This includes support for employment, qualification and social innovation through the European Social Fund. 350 million euros have already been approved for this alone until the end of 2025, it said. For example, new training networks in mechanical engineering at Chemnitz University of Technology are being supported in order to keep young talent in the region. In the "Job Coaching for Immigrants" project in Dresden, people with a migration background received help entering the job market.
