More than 800,000 people are expected in Leipzig this year as the International Gymnastics Festival takes place from May 28 to June 1. This event is not only the biggest event of the year in Leipzig, but also a magnetic event for sports lovers and culture enthusiasts. The program goes beyond simple sports competitions and offers a variety of attractions and engagement opportunities for visitors and participants alike.
The Turnfest offers a wide range of events, including competitions in 23 different sports, which include ten German championships. But there are not only highlights on a sporting level; cultural and social events are also part of the program. With over 5000 participants taking part in various galas and a professional show program, the gymnastics festival offers something for every taste. In addition, there are more than 400 further education opportunities, ranging from practical workshops to theoretical seminars.
The venues are spread throughout the city, including some of Leipzig's most famous squares. The Leipzig Trade Fair, the Red Bull Arena, the Quarterback Arena, the Egidius Braun Sports School, the Bruno Plache Stadium and the Stadium of Peace are just some of the 40 or so venues where events will take place.
