"Pavilion of Fear" starts as an art and participatory project

Visitors will be asked about their fears

The project will be accompanied by psychologists from Chemnitz University of Technology. On individual days, students and research assistants will ask visitors about their fears. "The cooperation with the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz enables us to conduct psychological research in a very fascinating cultural context," explained project manager Udo Rudolph. "We are looking forward to seeing how visitors react to the different representations of emotions in the visual arts and what new insights we will gain from this."

In the current Capital of Culture year, the art collections will be dedicated to the work of the Norwegian artist under the title "Edvard Munch. Anxiety", the art collections will dedicate an exhibition to the work of the Norwegian artist ("The Scream"). Munch was in the city in 1905 and painted portraits of the Esche family of textile manufacturers. In the exhibition, Munch's paintings and prints will enter into a dialog with works by contemporary artists such as Marina Abramović, Michael Morgner and Neo Rauch. The show will be on display from August 10.
