On the way to its major exhibition on Edvard Munch in August, the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz are launching a mobile art and hands-on project on the subject of fear. The "Pavilion of Fear" is intended to be a special place of encounter and initiate learning and experience processes, the art collections announced in advance. This includes personal discussions, singing and painting together, as well as readings and open-air movies. Fear is an ambivalent basic human emotion that is not only an obstacle, but can also provide motivation.
The pavilion will be making stops at various locations in the city over the coming weeks. It will kick off on Tuesday (June 10) in Bürgerpark Gablenz. Other locations include the castle pond for the Kosmos Festival, the Reichenhainer Straße canteen of the Technical University, Frei-Otto-Park in the Siegmar district and Theaterplatz in the city center.
