The Dresden Park Railway has kicked off the new season with a grand opening. Passengers can now ride the popular train through the Great Garden again. According to information from Schlösserland Sachsen, it runs at weekends and on public holidays from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm and during the week from 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm. Tickets for the half-hour ride regularly cost five euros, concessions three euros.
Train is also popular with tourists
In 2025, the park railroad celebrated its 75th birthday and welcomed a good 224,000 passengers. That was almost 3,500 more than in the previous year. The train has been running through Dresden's green oasis since 1950, exuding charm with its steam clouds and whistle signals. It is also popular with tourists, and sights such as the Palais Großer Garten and Lake Carola can be easily reached by train. There is also a stop at the zoo.
The two Liliput steam locomotives "Lisa" and "Moritz" from 1925 are a particular attraction. The park railroad has already transported more than 24 million passengers in total.
