First Karls Adventure Village opens in Saxony

Caterpillar tracks, tractor rides and lots of strawberry-related culinary delights: on Saturday, the first Karls Adventure Village in Saxony opened its doors to visitors in Döbeln (Central Saxony district). Despite some pouring rain, many families took the opportunity to explore the 6-hectare site on the Autobahn 14. Minister President Michael Kretschmer (CDU) was also among the first visitors.

The Karls chain originates from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and is known to many from vacations on the Baltic Sea. The park in Döbeln is now the sixth adventure village. In summer, around 1.5 hectares are to be added here for a corn maze. In addition to the caterpillar track, climbing strawberry, tractor track and XXL bouncy cushion, Karls in Saxony is focusing on the theme of bockwurst and has created a special "Bockwurstland". According to the company, the adventure village is a large playground for all children and adults. At the same time, many strawberry-related products are marketed - from spreads, cookies, sweets and fizzy drinks to soap and cuddly toys. Around 100 people are reportedly employed on the site. The adventure village is open all year round.

Other amusement parks in Saxony are also in the starting blocks for the new season. The summer season kicked off at Sonnenlandpark in Lichtenau near Chemnitz at the weekend, with Saurierpark Kleinwelka near Bautzen set to follow suit on Monday. Shortly before Easter, the amusement parks Plohn in Vogtland and Belantis near Leipzig will also reopen on Thursday after the winter break.
