The association as organizer of the Dresden Elbhangfest is in a financially critical situation due to the sluggish advance ticket sales for this year's event and warns of the cancellation of the traditional spectacle. Only by selling 12,000 tickets by April 15 can the staging of the festival be secured and part of the financial risk for the non-profit association be covered. But so far about 80% of the required ticket sales are still missing, which is why the association urgently asks for support from the citizenry, businesses and the city to be able to continue the festival in the future.

This year's 31st edition of the festival with the motto "Before the seven mountains" is to be designed fabulous and offers a varied program, ranging from French street art at the Blue Wonder to the park festival with numerous artists at Pillnitz Castle and a parade. Famous illustrators such as Ludwig Richter and Josef Hegenbarth will also be part of the festival.

The Dresden Elbe Slope Festival was originally created as an initiative to rebuild the Loschwitz Church, which was destroyed in World War II, and has been held annually on the last weekend in June since 1991. The former wine villages on the slopes of the Elbe are transformed into marketplaces and stages, while residents open their gardens and courtyards and invite visitors to linger over coffee, beer and wine. Funding comes from admissions, market fees and sponsors.
