Global Foods Trading GmbH from Biebesheim in Hesse has recalled its "MDH Peacook Kasoori Methi" fenugreek leaves due to the detection of a substance that is harmful to health. According to the online portal "Lebensmittelwarnung.de", the detected pesticide chlorpyrifos has not been approved as a plant protection product in the EU since 2020 due to health concerns. Affected are 100-gram packs with the batch numbers LOT No. 314, 315, 316 and a best-before date of 30.11.2026.
The product is sold in Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia.
