At the same time, he confirmed that the Group Executive Board had “been working intensively over the past few months on a plan for the future to restructure the company,” the spokesperson said. “The goal is to make the company as a whole more efficient and leaner, and to consistently leverage potential technological synergies.”
The goal is a “comprehensive transformation,” the spokesperson continued. “The entire group—including brands and subsidiaries—must undergo profound change.” The next step, following review by the Supervisory Board, will be to implement these changes. The spokesperson did not provide details on specific measures.
“Manager Magazin” had previously reported that the group intended to significantly tighten its cost-cutting measures. Up to 100,000 jobs could be cut worldwide—twice as many as previously planned. Four plants in Germany are facing closure. According to the report, the plans are scheduled to be discussed by the supervisory board on July 9.
