Saxony’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Dirk Panter, refuses to accept the possible closure of the VW plant in Zwickau. “We will fight for the plant and for the jobs. That’s beyond question,” said the SPD politician. The plant in Zwickau-Mosel must not fall victim to across-the-board cuts.
Panter described competition with other VW locations as fierce. “But then you also have to look at the numbers. And we can rightly claim that Mosel is the most productive and innovative site when it comes to vehicle production.”
