A wrong-way driver has been seriously injured in an accident on the Autobahn 14 between Leisnig and Mutzschen. According to the police, the 52-year-old was driving in the opposite direction in the left-hand lane and collided head-on with an oncoming van. Firefighters rescued him from the wreckage. The driver and passenger of the van were slightly injured. It is still unclear how the wrong-way driver ended up in the oncoming lane. The amount of damage is not yet known. The A14 towards Leipzig is open again after the accident on Thursday morning.
