Exports of cars and motorhomes will fall the most in 2025. Business with China will halve. Despite tariffs, the USA remains the most important customer for Saxon goods.

Saxony's car manufacturers recorded the largest decline in exports of all sectors last year. Exports of cars and motorhomes fell by 7.5 percent to 15.9 billion euros, according to the State Statistical Office in Kamenz. This was mainly due to fewer deliveries to the USA and China. Vehicle exports to China even fell by half. However, Saxony's car manufacturers increased exports to France by 20 percent.

The USA remains the most important export country for Saxony's economy despite numerous tariffs being imposed. It was followed by China and the United Kingdom, according to the report. 63 percent of all goods were exported to European countries. Overall, the Free State exported goods worth 50.6 billion euros last year, slightly less than in the previous year. According to the statisticians, this corresponds to a decrease of one percent.

Imports to Saxony reached their highest level to date last year. According to the figures, goods worth 39 billion euros were imported - twelve percent more than in the previous year. Most imports came from China, followed by the USA. The most important European import countries for Saxony are the Czech Republic and Poland.
