Three busy highway tunnels on the A17 will be closed again and again for almost a week and a half from next Friday evening. Among other things, the fire alarm technology in the Coschütz, Dölzschen and Altfranken tunnels will be replaced, as announced by Autobahn GmbH. The tunnels will also undergo maintenance during this time.
The first closure will reportedly begin on Friday (May 16) at 10 p.m. and end on Sunday evening (May 18) at 8 p.m. The following weekend (23 May to 25 May), the tunnels will be closed for the same period. In the week in between (May 19 to May 23), the tunnels will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Traffic in the direction of Dresden will be diverted from the Dresden-Südvorstadt junction via the Gorbitz junction. In the direction of Prague, traffic will be diverted at the Dresden-Gorbitz junction and returned to the A17 at the Dresden-Südvorstadt junction, according to the statement.
Independent of the tunnel closures, the speed in the tunnels will be limited to 60 kilometers per hour until further notice. Reason here too: Construction work, according to the statement.
