Despite the chip crisis, there will be no production stoppages at Volkswagen next week. As things stand today, production at all German sites will continue next week, the Group announced in Wolfsburg. This also applies to the subsidiaries Audi, Porsche and VW Commercial Vehicles, a spokesperson said when asked.
How things will continue after that, however, cannot yet be estimated. "In view of the dynamic situation, however, short-term effects on the Volkswagen Group's production network cannot be ruled out in principle," said a spokesperson.
So far, the chip bottlenecks have not led to the feared production stops. "The supply bottleneck at Dutch chip manufacturer Nexperia has so far had no impact on production at the Volkswagen Group's German plants," said the spokesperson. This week, production at all German sites has continued as planned. Due to the public holiday in Lower Saxony and Saxony, production will be suspended there on Friday.
