The manufacturer ESMC has received initial approval for the construction of the microchip factory in the north of Dresden. The decision means that the main building with the production and energy supply system as well as the ancillary buildings can be built, as announced by the State Directorate of Saxony (LDS).
Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) spoke of another important milestone for the construction of the semiconductor factory. "The largest single investment in Germany is thus making rapid progress as planned," he said in a statement. He described the coordination and cooperation between the company and the approval authorities as exemplary.
