A large number of logs from private, municipal, church and state-owned forests have been sold at an auction in the Dresden Heath. The bids were submitted in writing and high prices were paid, according to Sachsenforst. According to the information, a total of 397 logs from a total of 40 Saxon companies were auctioned off at the 27th sawmill and timber auction.
Interested parties in the wood came from all over Germany and from neighboring countries, it said. "Especially for small private forests, individual high-quality logs can find a better sale this way," said Forestry Minister Georg-Ludwig von Breitenbuch (CDU).
