For many residents around Leipzig/Halle Airport, there are at least slightly positive signs: aircraft noise has recently decreased somewhat. At the same time, parts of the night protection zone in the north of Leipzig are being extended. This was announced by the Aircraft Noise Abatement Officer after the spring meeting of the Aircraft Noise Commission (FLK).
According to the report, measurements of the stationary systems predominantly show a slightly lower noise level than in the previous year. Mobile measurements also confirm this trend. In Bad Dürrenberg (Saalekreis), the relevant limits for passive noise protection were clearly undercut.
However, the status quo will not remain the same everywhere: in the Leipzig districts of Wiederitzsch and Seehausen, the night protection area will be slightly extended. Affected property owners have already been informed about possible noise protection measures.
