Commuters between Leipzig and Erfurt still need patience: stolen cables are causing detour and waiting times. When will the next train run on schedule again?

Following a cable theft in Saxony-Anhalt, the railroad line between Leipzig and Erfurt remains closed. The repair work is expected to be completed by 4 p.m., a railroad spokeswoman said. Trains will continue to be rerouted via Naumburg.

According to the railroad company, the signal fault is located at Dörstewitz in the municipality of Schkopau and in Saubach in the Burgenland district. Repairs will begin in Saubach. There have already been considerable restrictions on train services since yesterday due to stolen cables.
