In Leipzig's St. Nicholas Church and St. Thomas Church, people can commemorate the victims after the alleged rampage. An ecumenical memorial service is planned for 5 p.m. today in St. Nicholas Church, announced the superintendent of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sebastian Feydt. There will also be space in both churches to mourn, talk, receive pastoral care and light candles. They are open all day.
Two people died in the suspected rampage in Leipzig city center on Monday afternoon, three were seriously injured.
His thoughts are now with the injured, those who care about them and the relatives of the dead, Feydt continued. "In the last few hours, I have experienced a wave of compassion and great courage: to stand together even more now, to be there for each other, to comfort and to mourn. I would like to thank the emergency services and everyone who spontaneously helped on site and from the surrounding stores and facilities."
