AfD accuses government of lack of interest in vaccine injuries

"Unfortunately, one gets the impression that the government has little interest in clearing up vaccine injuries and helping the victims," explained AfD MP André Wendt. It is particularly striking that the corona vaccinations have already led to 753 compensation proceedings, while all other vaccines together have only triggered 247 proceedings in the last 20 years. "This clear disproportionality represents a clear risk signal."

Wendt believes that coronavirus vaccinations were "fraught with great uncertainty from the outset". "The vaccines were less well tested than the flu vaccine, for example. Against this background, the risk of vaccine damage was higher from the outset. However, the fact that the recognition rate for vaccine damage is then significantly lower contradicts any rational explanation."

Doctors not liable for vaccine damage

In October, the Federal Court of Justice ruled that the vaccinating doctors are not liable for possible vaccine damage following a vaccination against the coronavirus. The third civil senate in Karlsruhe ruled that the state is generally responsible for any errors in information or treatment. Corresponding lawsuits by injured parties would therefore have to be directed against the federal or state governments.

Damage must exist for at least six months

According to the definition of the Robert Koch Institute, vaccine damage is "non-temporary damage to health that has already existed for at least 6 months, which goes beyond the usual extent of a reaction to a vaccination or other measure of specific prophylaxis and for which a causal connection to the vaccination or specific prophylaxis is proven or probable". As a rule, the vaccination damage is confirmed by an expert opinion.

192.2 million vaccine doses administered

According to the Federal Ministry of Health, almost 65 million people in Germany received at least one vaccine dose against the coronavirus between December 2020 and April 2023. A total of 192.2 million vaccine doses were administered.
