The fans of Niners Chemnitz can also look forward to crowd favorite Kevin Yebo in the coming season. The Saxons and the 29-year-old power forward have agreed on a contract extension, as the club announced. Yebo will start his pre-season preparations with the team at the beginning of August, when the Niners will compete in the ULEB BKT EuroCup, the second-highest European competition, for the first time in the club's history. "Kevin simply belongs in Chemnitz and is undoubtedly one of our most important key players," said managing director Steffen Herhold.
Yebo celebrated winning the FIBA Europe Cup and reaching the BBL playoff semi-finals with the Niners in the 2023/2024 season. After a brief stint at FC Bayern Munich, where he gained Euroleague experience, Yebo returned to Chemnitz at his own request in the course of last season.
