Erzgebirge Aue is one of the contenders for promotion in the Regionalliga. After relegation, the youth academy is a particular concern.

From an economic point of view, relegated Erzgebirge Aue can aim for an immediate return to the 3rd soccer league. "In my opinion, we won't fail to get promoted again for financial reasons," CFO Andreas Stark told the "Freie Presse" newspaper. However, one must "of course take into account that other clubs are on a par with us."

Stark, who has held the position of board member since last November, sees the club in an "averagely solid position". However, the club is also dependent on financial aid and deferrals. This would enable the club to meet its financial requirements and at the same time maintain the opportunity to "invest in the sporting quality of the team and the overall maintenance of the infrastructure."

Sponsors remain loyal

This also includes maintaining the youth training center (NLZ), whose role is becoming less of a priority due to the club's relegation to the fourth division. However, due to the desire to regain promotion, there will only be a few cuts to the NLZ in order to be able to meet the higher requirements in the third division again.

"We feel a responsibility towards the young players who have placed their trust in FC Erzgebirge, live at the boarding school or come here every day. We don't want to cut them off in a hurry," said Stark.

The board is pleased that most of the supporters are sticking with the club despite the first-time relegation to the fourth division. "We have many loyal sponsors who sometimes increase their commitment. Of course, there are also withdrawals and changes," said Stark, "but overall we are very grateful for the loyalty of our sponsors."
