Eight defeats in a row have caused FC Erzgebirge to plummet in the 3rd division. At least they managed to pick up a point against Verl after a gift from the visitors.

FC Erzgebirge Aue remain winless this year and only have a theoretical chance of staying in the 3rd division. They drew 1:1 (0:1) at home against SC Verl. Berkan Taz put the visitors ahead after just three minutes. Erik Weinhauer (64) equalized in front of 5,643 spectators, which came as a complete surprise at the time. The Saxons are now twelve points behind the non-relegation zone with five games remaining.

In the first 45 minutes after the early goal, it was really only the visitors who played. Aue accompanied the opposing players in their passing game, but were unable or unwilling to stop it. SC Verl had over 70 percent possession, which resulted in one or two chances. Aue only managed to get in front of their opponents' goal on two occasions. However, new captain Marcel Bär (12') and Ricky Bornschein (35') failed to score with shots against visiting goalkeeper Philipp Schulze.

Schulze helps to equalize

After the break, FC Erzgebirge were at least somewhat involved in the attacking play, but could hardly develop any danger. As a result, a capital mistake by goalkeeper Schulze was the reason for the equalizer. Weinhauer only had to push the ball into the orphaned goal. That gave the hosts a wake-up call, but the general uncertainty and limited resources of the Auer were visible everywhere.
