The ThSV Eisenach handball team celebrated its first road win of this Bundesliga season following an impressive performance. Coach Sebastian Hinze’s team secured a surprisingly commanding 33–29 (18–13) victory over the Rhein-Neckar Löwen on Thursday evening. In front of 4,803 spectators, Felix Aellen led the Thuringians with seven goals, helping the team climb to 13th place with 5:11 points. Eisenach impressed from the start with sound decision-making on offense and a compact defense. They were already up 2–0 after 83 seconds and extended their lead to 10–5 by the 16th minute. It wasn’t until the 28th minute that the visitors, who were playing strongly, committed their first technical error. At halftime, the lead stood at five goals. Although the Lions came out of the locker room with more momentum, the Eisenach team—brilliantly organized tactically—remained remarkably steady, keeping the lead consistently between four and six goals. As a result, the visitors ultimately won without any real threat. Copyright 2026, dpa (www.dpa.de). All rights reserved
