RB Leipzig is still unsure whether Antonio Nusa will be able to play. The top scorer only trained on his own. Coach Martín Demichelis will not decide whether he will play against FC Augsburg this Saturday (3:30 p.m./Sky) until just before the Bundesliga match. “He didn’t train yesterday, had physical therapy today, and only warmed up for 25 minutes. We don’t know yet,” said the Argentine head coach about the Norwegian. “We worked incredibly hard against Manchester City. It’s the fourth consecutive midweek match; the workload was extremely high. We’ll wait until tomorrow to see who starts—the goal is to have a fresh team on the field,” said Demichelis. In the Bundesliga, the Saxons have celebrated more home wins against no other club than against FCA—nine out of ten matchups. And Augsburg has never won in Leipzig. Their only point there came a long time ago: in March 2019, under coach Manuel Baum, they earned a scoreless draw against the Saxons, who have won 12 of their 20 Bundesliga matches against Augsburg. “Augsburg is an extremely tough opponent and leads the league in second-most sprints. We have to bring the same intensity and willingness to run to use our quality to secure the three points,” said Demichelis.
