RB Leipzig aims to extend its perfect home record in the Bundesliga—four wins and a goal differential of 18-0—against FC Augsburg. After suffering their first home loss in the Champions League against Manchester City (2–3) earlier this week, the team now aims to secure another victory in front of their home fans against their favorite opponent, FCA. “We have to stay focused; it’s not about tired legs, but about being mentally sharp. The team is in good spirits; I’m convinced that, despite tired legs, we’ll make the best of it,” said coach Martín Demichelis ahead of today’s match (3:30 p.m./Sky). He’s still leaving open whether top scorer Antonio Nusa will be able to play. The Norwegian had to leave the field early against Man City with calf issues and has only been training individually. No other Bundesliga club has suffered as many home losses to Leipzig as FCA—nine out of ten matchups. And Augsburg has never won in Leipzig; its only point there came a long time ago: in March 2019, under coach Manuel Baum, they earned a scoreless draw against the Saxons, who have won 12 of their 20 Bundesliga matches against Augsburg.
