The handball players of ThSV Eisenach have suffered their third defeat in a row in the Bundesliga. Coach Sebastian Hinze's charges lost 28:31 (11:16) at Rhein-Neckar Löwen and are therefore already fighting relegation early on in the season. Edwin Aspenbäck (6 goals), Dani Baijens and Tim Nothdurft (5 each) played the biggest part in the home side's success. Stephan Seitz (7), Felix Aellen (6) and Oskar Joelsson (5) scored the most goals for the visitors.
The team from Eisenach only led 1:0 after one minute and then constantly trailed. The home side pulled away from 3:3 (9th minute), 6:3 (13th minute) and 13:7 (26th minute). Eisenach fought its way back to 18:20 (44'), also thanks to its outstanding goalkeeper Matija Spikic (17 saves), but was no longer able to turn the game around due to numerous technical mistakes.
