HSV will host top club RB Leipzig at the weekend. The youngest coaches in the league will then meet. Polzin says that he can learn from his northern German opponent.

Before the duel between the two youngest coaches in the Bundesliga, Merlin Polzin from Hamburger SV praised Ole Werner from RB Leipzig. He reported that he was keeping a close eye on his opponent's work. "I think that's the most important thing as a coach or as a person in general, that you always try to improve and learn. And I can definitely learn that from him," said Polzin ahead of the clash between the two teams on Sunday (19:30/DAZN).

Polzin is 35, Werner 37 years old. "Of course, as a young coach, you also follow other coaches who are perhaps not quite so old, just to see how they have developed or perhaps to learn something from them," said Polzin.

Polzin: Northern Germans are a good match

Both grew up in northern Germany. When Werner was still second-division coach at Holstein Kiel, Polzin worked opposite him as assistant coach at Hamburger SV. "Very pleasant character. I think the North Germans will be a good match in terms of style," said Polzin.

He is looking forward to exchanging ideas with Werner on the sidelines of the game, as he did in the first leg, in which HSV lost 2-1.

Before this season, Werner moved from league rivals Werder Bremen to the Saxons. He is doing a "very, very good job" in Leipzig, said Polzin, praising the coach of the fifth-placed team in the table.
