A catastrophic defensive performance thoroughly spoiled Dynamo Dresden's second league comeback after 1176 days. The Saxons paid the price at SpVgg Greuther Fürth and lost 2:3 (1:2). Noel Futkeu scored after just 24 seconds - no Dynamo professional had touched the ball at that point.
After Felix Klaus made it 2-0 (9th minute), Christoph Daferner (11th minute) scored the equalizer. After the break, it was Futkeu again (51) who restored the two-goal gap. Claudio Kammerknecht (74) only scored to close the gap.
"It was the first ever second division game for many of us. Perhaps we were a little nervous. As the game went on, we realized that we could keep up and play great soccer," said Kammerknecht.
Dynamo coach Thomas Stamm relied on tried-and-tested players, but also started three new signings from the beginning with Konrad Faber, Alexander Rossipal and Nils Fröling. As expected, midfield engine Niklas Hauptmann started on the bench. After his appendix operation, he is not yet at 100 per cent.
