The Birman tomcats Hubert and Staller formed a close-knit team in the Allgäu region - until the owner's neighbors moved and Staller disappeared without a trace. Then the police intervened.

After a cat theft in the Allgäu region, the police have reunited the two tomcats Hubert and Staller. Staller disappeared when the neighbors of the owner, who lives in Füssen, moved to Saxony, the police said. Because the two Burmese tomcats, named after the TV detectives, were always at the neighbors' house, the owner of the animals finally reported the suspicion of theft to the police.

According to the police, the suspicion was confirmed during the investigation. Officers therefore searched the former neighbor's new home in the Saxon district of Bautzen. The man tried to let Staller the cat outside via the terrace in time. However, the police were able to prevent this. According to the police, this ultimately led to a happy ending: Staller was reunited with Hubert after a journey of around 600 kilometers, and Hubert's time without Staller had come to an end.

For the former neighbors, however, the case is likely to have repercussions: The police investigation into the theft against the 57-year-old ex-neighbor has been completed. The case is now with the public prosecutor's office, said a police spokeswoman.
