Aue has found a temporary solution following the departure of managing director Heidrich. A former professional is returning to the Erzgebirge.

Third division soccer club Erzgebirge Aue has found an interim solution for Matthias Heidrich, who was released two days ago. In the coming weeks, Steffen Ziffert will assist the board in an advisory capacity, the club announced. However, the former professional is not a candidate for the position of sports director.

"It is important to us that we do not leave the day-to-day tasks unattended. Steffen Ziffert knows the automatisms, needs no training period and currently has the necessary capacity to support us," said sporting director Jens Haustein.

The 61-year-old is thus returning to the Erzgebirge. He already held the position of sporting director in the 2015/2016 season. Most recently, Ziffert was sports director at regional league club Chemie Leipzig.
