The Thuringian Bundesliga handball players were unable to build on their recent performances at BVB. They were almost hopelessly behind at the break.

Without their injured top scorer Johanna Reichert, the handball players of Thüringer HC have conceded their third defeat of the season in the German league. The team of Head Coach Herbert Müller was beaten 31:36 (15:23) at Borussia Dortmund. Csenge Kuczora was the best scorer for THC, which now has 7:7 points with ten goals.

Both teams sought to play at pace from the outset and traded blows for long stretches of the first half. However, when Dortmund's international goalkeeper Sarah Wachter got into the game better and better, the THC had to let up. Dortmund went on a 6:1 run to open up an eight-goal gap by the break, also benefiting from the visitors' passive defending.

The pace slowed somewhat after the break, but BVB remained in control at all times and gave the Thuringians no hope of catching up. The lead reached its highest point at 30:20 in the 44th minute. In the final phase, the THC was able to make up the deficit.
