The Bundesliga handball players of Thüringer HC have reacted to the imminent departure of their top scorer Johanna Reichert to Romania in the summer. From now on, backcourt player Kelly de Abreu Rosa will play for the THC. The 1.78-meter tall Brazilian is moving to Thuringia from Hungarian first-division club Dunáujvárosi Kohász KA.
The young and talented backcourt player made a lasting impression last season, particularly in the EHF European League. With her dynamism, overview of the game and penetrating power, she is set to fill the gap left by Reichert's departure.
"As Johanna Reichert's departure was to be expected, we started looking for a suitable successor very early on. That's how we noticed Kelly, who caused us big problems against Elche in the European League last year. The profile was clear: young, capable of development and a backcourt player who can help us fill the big gap left by JoJo," said THC coach Herbert Müller in a club statement.
