The women's handball club Thüringer HC has lost a home game in the German league for the first time in six months. The team of Head Coach Herbert Müller was narrowly beaten 22:23 (11:13) by HB Ludwigsburg in the top game.
With nine goals, Johanna Reichert was once again the best scorer for THC, who now have 29:11 points, in front of 1,419 spectators. The Ludwigsburg club, for whom international Antje Döll scored six times, extended its lead in the table with 36:2 points.
The visitors started confidently, ran the ball quickly and led 5:3 after seven minutes. THC then stepped up the intensity in defense considerably. The home side went eight-and-a-half minutes without conceding a goal and turned the deficit into a 7:5 lead in the 15th minute.
