The Bundesliga handball club Thüringer HC narrowly avoided its first defeat of the season. The team of Head Coach Herbert Müller drew 29:29 (11:17) at Buxtehuder SV after improving its performance in the second half. In front of 1,500 spectators, Nathalie Hendrikse secured a point for the THC with three seconds remaining. Johanna Reichert was the best scorer with nine goals.
Six days after the 32:25 win over Halle, the club from Thuringia initially struggled as a first-time guest in the new Halle Nord. Buxtehude started with great enthusiasm and mercilessly exposed the gaps in the THC's defense. As a result, BSV led 9:4, but a timeout by Müller only briefly shook the visitors awake. Buxtehude kept up the pace and was six goals ahead at the break.
After the break, THC moved the ball much better and stalked back to 21:23 (45'). Sharon Nooitmeer tied the scores at 27:27 for THC in the 57th minute. After her goalkeeper Sophie Fasold made her 15th save, Buxtehude had victory in sight before Hendrikse scored to tie the scores.
