The Thuringian handball players are getting better and better in the Bundesliga. After a short start-up period, they dominated Oldenburg at will.

The women's handball club Thüringer HC has impressively confirmed its upward trend in the German league. The team of Head Coach Herbert Müller defeated VfL Oldenburg by a clear 34:22 (19:11) in front of 1,217 spectators on Saturday evening. For the second win in succession, Johanna Reichert was the best scorer for the THC, which now has 7:5 points with twelve goals.

The two teams were evenly matched up to 8:7 midway through the first half, before the Thuringians increasingly succeeded in stopping VfL's flow of play in defense. As they also shone in attack with their efficient exploitation of chances, they pulled 19:11 ahead by the break.

After a brief spell of weakness at the start of the second half, the THC quickly regained control of the game and led by double digits for the first time (28:18 in the 48th minute). The home side kept up the pace right to the end and deserved to win by that margin.
