The women's handball club Thüringer HC has recorded its fourth away win in succession in the German league. The team of Head Coach Herbert Müller confidently held on to win 33:23 (17:12) at Sport-Union Neckarsulm and so took revenge for the unexpected 31:33 defeat in the first leg. The outstanding Johanna Reichert scored 14 goals in front of 1,064 spectators and was the best scorer for THC, who remain fourth with 19:9 points.
The club from Thuringia generated a lot of power from the backcourt right from the start. When goalkeeper Laura Kuske then also got into the game better and better, they produced a 7:0 run to take an 11:4 lead in the 17th minute. However, the visitors then became increasingly careless and Neckarsulm was able to reduce the deficit slightly by the break.
After the break, both sides initially dominated in defense, before the Thuringians extended their lead to 24:16 (46') with fast breaks after winning possession. Despite the clear lead, the THC did not lose concentration until the end.
