ThSV Eisenach clearly lost against THW Kiel in the German Handball League. They suffered a 32:40 (19:22) defeat against the record champions in the sold-out Werner-Aßmann-Halle on Friday. In front of 3150 spectators, Niklas Ekberg from THW Kiel was the best scorer with seven goals, including three converted seven-meter penalties. Willy Weyrauch (6 goals) was the best Eisenach scorer.
The Wartburg club came back strongly after the break and tied the scores at 22:22 after five minutes. However, they were not able to hold on to it for long and completely lost control of the game. The record champions from Kiel scored six goals in a row to build a lead that they were able to extend to 40:32 by the end.
