The Dynamo Dresden players sat down on the pitch disappointed, coach Thomas Stamm mourned the missed chance of three points after twice taking the lead. After a 2:2 (0:1) draw at Preußen Münster, the Saxons remain without a win for the sixth game in a row in the 2nd Bundesliga - and thus remain in the middle of the table basement.
"We are promoted - we haven't seen ourselves in the top three positions after nine games," said Stamm, who expects a relegation battle until the last matchday. "This thing goes right down to the wire," he explained.
Bünning scores at the front and back
Alexander Rossipal gave Dresden the lead in Münster in the 23rd minute with a fantastic free-kick goal. After the break, Münster's Jorrit Hendrix equalized on the volley (51') before Dynamo's Lars Bünning scored with his head to make it 2-1 (71'). The defender then also ensured the final score with an own goal (85'). In stoppage time, Dresden substitute Stefan Kutschke was shown the red card after an assault (90.+7).
"I saw a few things that were better today. And yet we have to manage it - especially when we lead 2:1 in a phase in which Münster were no longer really in the game - to pull it out," Stamm told pay-TV channel Sky.
Münster have the chances, Dresden score the goal
In a fast-paced game, the hosts initially had the better opportunities. Dresden's Lukas Boeder saved on the line from a Münster shot (13'). Shortly afterwards, Lars Lokotsch's deflected shot hit the crossbar to prevent Münster from taking the lead (15').
Dynamo proved to be much more efficient and took the lead through Rossipal's free-kick from just over 25 meters. Münster kept the pressure on even after going behind. However, they left a lot to be desired until the break.
Unlucky own goal equalizes
That changed after the break when Münster captain Hendrix scored a well-deserved equalizer with a fine shot. Bünning then restored the lead before the ball bounced off the post onto his thigh and into his own goal in the closing stages.
