The handball players of SC DHfK Leipzig still have to wait for their first away win of the Bundesliga season. The team of coach Runar Sigtryggsson lost 29:35 (17:19) in front of 6300 spectators at SG Flensburg-Handewitt despite a courageous performance and thus conceded their fourth defeat on foreign soil. Viggo Kristjansson was the best scorer for SC DHfK, which dropped to eleventh place with 8:10 points. The Icelandic international scored eight times.
The club from Leipzig, who had to replace the injured backcourt players Matej Klima and Franz Semper as well as the injured right wing Staffan Peter, started strongly and was 4:2 ahead after four minutes. The home side then also found its rhythm in attack, resulting in a fast-paced exchange of blows. Leipzig was able to keep up the high tempo at all times in the first half, but then had to let up a little as Flensburg's goalkeeper Kevin Möller increasingly became a factor.
