The handball players of SC DHfK Leipzig have made a statement in the Bundesliga relegation battle. After nine games without a win, the team of Head Coach Frank Carstens defeated HC Erlangen 30:29 (17:13) in front of a home crowd. Dean Bombac was the best scorer for SC DHfK in its first home win of the year in front of 4,510 spectators, scoring eight goals to move up to penultimate place with 13:47 points.
The club from Leipzig started the game with a lot of momentum, but increasingly revealed problems in defense because it was too passive against Erlangen's backcourt shooters.
