Bundesliga club RB Leipzig is reported to have rejected a 100-million-euro offer from Liverpool FC for star striker Yan Diomande. This is according to a report by the pay-TV channel Sky.
According to the report, the Reds offered the Saxon club 90 million euros plus 10 million euros in bonuses. Diomande, who is currently playing in the World Cup with the Ivory Coast national team and will face the German national team in Toronto on Saturday, has a contract with RB Leipzig through 2030 that does not include a buyout clause.
The 19-year-old Diomande was the breakout star of the past Bundesliga season. RB signed the young talent for 20 million euros from the Spanish second-division club CD Leganés. His performances quickly caught the attention of top European clubs, and rumors repeatedly surfaced that the Ivorian might leave the Bundesliga after just his first season. Especially since Diomande makes no secret of the fact that potential suitors like Liverpool and Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain are definitely among his favorite teams.
