Antonio Nusa wants to be himself above all else. RB Leipzig's new hope after the departure of Dani Olmo doesn't know exactly where his nickname "Norwegian Neymar" comes from. "I think it's because Neymar was my role model when I was growing up. I watched him a lot. He's a great player, but I'm not the new Neymar," emphasized the versatile attacking player during his introduction in Leipzig. "I'm Antonio Nusa and I want to be myself. I don't need that nickname anymore," said the Norwegian international, who came to Leipzig from top Belgian club FC Brugge for a transfer fee of more than 20 million euros. He signed a contract with the two-time cup winners until June 30, 2029.
The 19-year-old, who scored immediately after coming on as a substitute in the DFB Cup match at Rot-Weiss Essen (4:1) to make it 3:1 and thus had a dream debut, also caught the eye of coach Marco Rose with his good first touch of the ball. "I train my whole life to have good touches and dribbles. But it's not perfect yet," said Nusa, who has taken over the shirt number from Dani Olmo. "Dani Olmo is a really great player who has left a big mark here," said the seven-time Norwegian international. At the same time, he praised coach Rose: "I know he was good for Haaland and made him great, maybe we can repeat the same story together."
