Bundesliga club RB Leipzig will travel to the USA without Christoph Baumgartner. As the club announced, the 24-year-old midfielder underwent a minor procedure due to persistent knee problems and will complete his rehabilitation measures in Leipzig. "However, he will be available to head coach Marco Rose in the near future," the statement read.
The team will be preparing for the season outside of Europe for the first time this summer, traveling to the USA from July 28 to August 4. As part of the US tour, RB will set up camp at the New York Red Bulls' academy in Whippany in the state of New Jersey.
The Bundesliga side will test against English top-flight club Aston Villa at the arena in Harrison on Thursday night (2.00 am CEST). They will then travel to Florida, where a test match against Wolverhampton Wanderers from England is scheduled at the Inter Miami CF stadium on Sunday night (1.30 am CEST).
