RB Leipzig want to rediscover their attacking qualities against Borussia Dortmund. The Saxons have been waiting four games for a win in the Bundesliga and have fallen behind in the battle for the top flight for the time being. "We have similar issues to Dortmund, we're also struggling with consistency. The Bundesliga is very, very tight from 4th to 10th place. Two teams with clear goals will face each other tomorrow. We want to win and pick up points to stay up there," said RB head coach Marco Rose ahead of the top match this Saturday (18:30/Sky).
RB have "the quality to cause them problems, with pace, with soccer, with defending and everything that goes with it." BVB have visited Leipzig four times since November 2021 and returned empty-handed on each occasion. Four defeats and 2:11 goals are on the record.
Xavi is "ready to learn" according to Rose
A lot will once again depend on playmaker Xavi Simson, who has not yet been able to build on his pre-season performances following his injury. "He had an injury for the first time in his career," said Rose and emphasized: "Then he came back, but the euphoria has now given way to reality to some extent. It's hard for him to accept when some things don't work out."
According to Rose, the Dutchman, who is only 21, has worked hard "to become a leader. Xavi is willing to learn, he listens and is and remains an important factor for us".
