RB Leipzig want to show their best side in their Bundesliga visit to Dortmund today (3.30pm). Head coach Ole Werner is demanding "maximum performance. That applies to all parameters, tactical, mental, playful," he said and added with a view to the BVB game in the Champions League against Bilbao (4:1): "We were able to prepare for this game for a whole week, Dortmund had a few days less preparation time. But they're used to this rhythm, they have a team that's been put together exactly for this. So this fact alone won't lead us to victory, but it's certainly not a disadvantage either."
Werner will have to make do without the two veterans Kevin Kampl (infection) and Timo Werner (muscular problems). Like RB, Borussia Dortmund have won four Bundesliga games in a row recently. On a positive note for the Saxons, Leipzig have won seven of their nine competitive matches against Dortmund since losing the cup final in May 2021. Dortmund, who are unbeaten in 13 Bundesliga games, also suffered their last defeat at RB on March 15.
