The police have investigated the Leipzig supporter who injured Zwickau bus driver Stephan Mildner by throwing a cup at him during the regional league match between Lok Leipzig and FSV Zwickau. This was announced by the Leipzig police. Mildner, who was watching the game on the Zwickau bench, was hit on the head by a hard plastic cup filled with sand and gravel. The bleeding wound was immediately treated by paramedics. The guest bus was then driven to Zwickau by the Lok Leipzig bus driver.
Lok Leipzig also pressed charges on Saturday morning, as the club announced on its website. Immediately after the match, the club apologized to the bus driver for the incident. In a joint statement, both clubs also thanked "the level-headed spectators who contributed to the quick clarification of the incident."
Police also active after the game
The police also intervened after the end of the game, which Zwickau won 2-0 against the autumn champions. A visiting fan was arrested for stealing furniture from the stadium and unknown perpetrators also set fire to a seat shell.
In addition, seven suspected Lok supporters were arrested after a clash between the two fan camps in the Witzgallstraße area at around 22:00. They had used violence to steal fan paraphernalia from the visiting fans. The police announced that investigations had been initiated in all cases "including for damage to property and assault offenses".
