Erzgebirge Aue has dropped back to a relegation place. Two former Erzgebirge players were able to celebrate at Ulm.

Pavel Dotchev and Mirnes Pepic have sent their former club Erzgebirge Aue back down to the relegation places in the third division. The coach and midfielder won 2-0 (0-0) with SSV Ulm on their return to the Erzgebirgstadion. Aue are 17th with 22 points, while the relegated second-division side are 18th with three points fewer.

After an uneventful first half, a double strike shortly after the break made a preliminary decision. Firstly, Marcel Seegert capitalized on a major mistake by Auer goalkeeper Louis Lord to give the visitors the lead (48'). Six minutes later, Pepic, who had already provided the assist for the 1:0, scored a second goal for the visitors.

A potential comeback was also thwarted by Ryan Malone. The captain fouled his former teammate with his open sole high up on the halfway line and was shown the red card (65'). Ulm then had a few more opportunities to finally decide the game, but missed them miserably. Elias Löder then scored in stoppage time to make it 3-0.
