The Niners Chemnitz basketball team failed to extend its winning streak in the German league. After three wins in a row, the team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore lost to Rasta Vechta by 90:96 (43:39) in front of a home crowd. In front of 4,751 spectators, Kevin Yebo was the Niners' best scorer with 25 points (14:14).
Chemnitz, who confirmed the departure of wing Ty Brewer to Russian first-division club Unics Kazan just a few hours before the start of the game, immediately found its rhythm in offense and led 14:7 after four minutes. However, the home side's shooting percentage dropped in the second quarter. Moreover, they were unable to find a way past Vechta's outstanding playmaker Alonzo Verge Jr., who had already scored 18 points for his team to make it 34:32 (14th minute).
The visitors produced a 15:4 run after the break to open up a 54:47 gap (25th minute) and continued to play at a high level in offense. Although the Niners showed morale and fought their way back to 82:86 in the 38th minute, Vechta made the better decisions in the final spell.
