The home streak of the Chemnitz Bundesliga basketball team is broken. A disastrous start to the final quarter against Alba Berlin was their undoing.

The Niners Chemnitz basketball team suffered its first home defeat of the Bundesliga season. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore lost to Alba Berlin by 85:89 (48:44) after a collapse in the final quarter. Ty Brewer and Kevin Yebo were the Niners' best scorers with 18 points apiece.

After a rocky start, Chemnitz took control thanks to its accuracy from beyond the arc. They took a 28:19 lead after the first quarter with eight threes. Berlin then adjusted better to the home side's play and tied the scores at 39:39 in the 18th minute.

The Niners maintained a narrow lead for a long time after the break, before Alba turned the game around at the start of the final quarter with a 17:0 run to make it 84:72 in the 36th minute. Chemnitz did not give up and cut the deficit to 83:87 with 46 seconds remaining, but the club from Saxony was no longer able to turn the game around.
