Katja Wienerroither is the fifth player to leave the women's Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. The contract of the 14-time Austrian national team player expires this summer. After many injury breaks, the 23-year-old wants to return to her home in Salzburg and continue her career in Austria. "The last two years have been challenging, but also instructive. I would like to thank RB Leipzig for their support and trust, even if it unfortunately didn't go as I had hoped," said the attacking player.
After Lydia Andrade, Vanessa Fudalla, Barbara Brecht and Josefine Schaller, this is now the fifth player to leave this summer. However, four new signings have already been confirmed: Maja Spilenberg (ETO FC Győr), Mirja Kropp (FSV Gütersloh), Rucy Grunenberg (RB Leipzig U20) and Annabel Schasching (SC Freiburg). The contracts of Victoria Krug and Sandra Starke have also been extended.
